BYU Basketball

On Tuesday of last week we went to the BYU Basketball game against TCU.
It was Jackson Emery night in honor of him passing Danny Ainge's steal record with 196 steals.
Jackson is a Lone Peak Graduate and we have been watching him play for years,
so it was fun to go to this game and see him get honored.
I loved the posters they were handing out before the game.
Very clever!
"Jackson Emery Wanted
for Excessive Stealing and Premeditated Thievery"
Sooooo Funny! I loved it!

Wednesday night I went with the boys to the BYU/Sandiego game!
It was the game of the year with SanDiego coming in ranked 4th in the country
and BYU ranked 9th.
It also featured two of the top players in the country.
It was a close game until the last 7 minutes or so
and BYU pulled ahead by 10 and SanDiego could never catch up!
Jimmer Fredette showed who was the better player tonight with 42 points!
And BYU showed who was the better team!
Final Score, 71-58!!
Best game I have ever been to.
The Marriott center was packed full!
So much fun!!!

Noah was not able to go because he had the PineWood Derby
but I was able to get him a Jimmer Jersey.
Noah and I had been saving Jimmer body parts from the Newspaper all week
so we could build a life size Jimmer!
I taped him to a pillar in the entry way
and he kind of freaks everyone out when they walk around the corner from the kitchen!
It is so funny!
I know he is there and I have even jumped a couple of times!!
Fun week to be a BYU Basketball fan!

Pinewood Derby 2011

This year Noah decided he wanted to design his Pinewood Derby "Car"
to look like "Noah's Ark".
Dad helped him make it and Mom helped him paint it.
He decided exactly what he wanted it to look like
and he was very happy with the results.
Sometimes though, when you build a car like this
you have to give up speed for originality.....
not exactly the fastest car. I warned him that it would not be,
but it was still a favorite of the other scouts!
Next year we are going for speed though!

Noah, Jacob and Caleb...
the newest scouts to the Wolf den!
Hard to believe that Noah is the youngest of the three boys!
I can't decide if they are just short or if Noah is just really tall!

Two years ago,
before Noah was old enough to be a scout
we did this car for him to race.
It is my all time favorite....and it was fast.
When your dad is the cub master
you get to be in the PineWood Derby even when you are 6!
This year was his first year racing legally....
He was so excited and had a fun night!

Builders without Borders

WELCOME to MEXICO!!
On December 26th
James, McKenzie and Autumn left for Mexico
as part of "Builders without Borders"
They went there to build houses for members of the church
that were in desperate need of new homes.
They were gone for 9 days
and were able to complete 3 homes
as well as hand out donations of toys and clothes.
Autumn and McKenzie were able to spend some time with children in the orphanages there.
Autumn also was able to give haircuts,
give lessons to the relief society sisters on how to cut hair,
as well as give out hair cutting kits so they would be able to cut hair.
I think it was a great experience for all of them.
I know they are already planning to go again next year.
McKenzie took tons of pictures and I am only posting a few until
she can come home and help me with the rest.
I can not even tell you what they are of
but thought I would post a few anyways until she is home and can help me.
