Memorial Day........

This past week was Memorial Day
We visited the cemetery on Sunday.  Just Hunter and Noah
and Bobby and Rachel.  Everyone else was in St George.

During the week Noah's class went on a walking field trip to the cemetery.
He told me how he had showed Aspens grave to his class and told them she was his big sister.
I had to really think about that for a moment, because I never think of her that way.
We always refer to her as "Baby Aspen"
It was really odd to think of her as being his big sister.  But she is.
That is just really a strange way for me to think of her.
But funny that he thinks of her as his big sister!
He never knew her and yet he loves going to the cemetery to visit her.

On Monday morning I drove Hunter around to put up flags in the neighborhood
as part of his scout troop.
Noah of course got recruited to help, but he liked helping.

 Later in the day
Hunter spray painted the Tables and Chairs that were starting to show rust.
He hates when I take pictures of every thing!

Noah and his friend Jaxon swam in the pool for the first time this year.
It is finally warm enough and the pool is nice and clean!

I tried planting the rest of my flowers.
With little help from the dog!  He lays right where I am trying to work.
Usually on top of the flowers I just planted!
I really am starting not to like this dog very much..........
But Noah keeps reminding him that he is our dog and we need to be nice to him!
I did get all of my flowers planted and think I am finally done for the year!  YAY!

In honor of memorial day Noah and Jaxon made this grave out under the swings!
So funny and so cute that this is what they associate with Memorial Day!
Noah said it would be the perfect grave for Malone
because he loves Frisbees!
It would also seem they picked a lot of my flowers..........:(

We recently bought an ice cream maker.......
and finally after several tries, Noah and I were able to make the "Perfect" ice cream!
So, so YUMMY!

Noah also managed to get his first major sun burn of the year,
and the first Bee sting of the season!

We are nearly done with the last week of school
and then summer begins.........

Mama's Boy............

(When Noah was 3 years old)

The boys always accuse Noah of being a Mama's boy!
I see nothing wrong with being a mama's boy......
I don't know if it is because he is the youngest,
or because he was born after Aspen died,
or if it is just because he is my "Favorite"
or all of the above and several other reasons, but Noah and I are just close
and have a fun connection!
For Mothers day at school he made a book for me.
It was kind of fun to read through and see his thoughts as well as how well he
knows me and things that I like.
I thought I would share some of it!
He will probably kill me, but I will take that chance because it is so cute!

***********************
My Mom is Special because......
she is good at cooking, cleaning, and finding stuff.

I like it when she takes me to XSI.
(this is where he plays basketball)

She can do many things but I think she is best at
just being a mom.

She has a pretty smile.
She makes me smile when I cant find stuff and she finds it.

She is as pretty as a puppy.
(I think that is a compliment...)

She is smart. She even knows how to use the computer!

My mom worries.
I think she worries most that someone else in our family will die. :(

These are a few of my mom's favorite things.....

Favorite color - purple (close. It is green.)

Favorite food - Home made Oreo's.
(had not thought of that one but I do seem to make them a lot)

Favorite Book - Witches
(This was a fun book that Noah and I read together)

Favorite movie - The Notebook (He knows me well)

Favorite Music Group - Lady Antabellum

Favorite Game - Bunko (Ticket to Ride)

Favorite Team - SF 49ers (Really? Did not know that)

Favorite Place to visit - Oregon

Favorite Hobby - Cleaning (Can not stop laughing at this one.)

Favorite Memory with my mom is when she took me to the
BYU football game for my Birthday and BYU won.

If I could give my mom something special for Mothers Day
I would give her a Purple Diamond Watch!

My Mom is the Best Mom ever.
I can't believe she is my mom!

 I love this Kid!
And I loved reading the things he wrote about me!
So, so fun!

Thanks Noah for the perfect Mothers Day gift!
I am so glad that you are, and I hope you always will be
a "Mama's Boy"!

Saying Good-bye........

We had the best time with McKenzie while she was home.
It went so fast.  It was hard to say good bye,
but she will be home on June 13th.
So it is nice to know that good bye is just temporary.
Hunter and Noah really enjoyed having her home.
They miss her the most I think,
well a side from me.  But we talk and text all of the time!

At the airport saying good bye.....
When the heck did Hunter get so tall?
McKenzie is not short and he seems to be taller than she is!
Big "Bear" hug for Noah!

She seemed to be in a hurry to get back to Hawaii though.
I wonder why????????

Could it be because of all of the fun stuff she does there?
She assures me that she does study.
She did manage to pull straight "A's"!
I don't know how though because it looks like too much fun to me.

She gets to swim and snorkle with dolphins
and sea turtles and stuff like that.
Maybe even sharks!

She seems to always be hanging out with her friends
posing for pictures in really cool places!
I'd say it was a tad windy this day, but still looks like they are having too much fun!

I think she spends a lot of time hanging on the beach
in what seems to be a barely there swim suit........

She probably spends a lot of time watching the surfers......
and other beach attractions.....

 (Very cool picture above)

Maybe it is the little Hawaian children she loves.
Have to admit they are dang cute......

In Hawaii it would seem you can have very cool pets.......
at home I would make her keep it in a cage!

 There is the cliff jumping.
Or in her case the contemplating cliff jumping!
Not sure if she got a little push or just the threat of a push!

In Hawaii it is legal to just ride around in the back of pick ups.
Love the hair do and it would seem she can sleep just about any where......

It would seem though that there is more than all of the above that made her want to get
back to Hawaii.
Remember in the movie "Father of the Bride"
and George is picturing his daughter as a 6 year old in pigtails?
I think he imagined her saying something like,
"I've met someone, we are in love and we are getting married!"

Well,  that is what is happening here........

 So this is Josh..........
He is from Pleasant Grove, (we will over look that)
They had to go clear to Hawaii to meet on a blind date that neither really wanted to go on!
Well, they are "in love" and it would seem they are getting married!
They will both be home in June and we are looking forward to meeting
Josh then, and then we can figure out all of their plans......
which I am sure they have all ready figured out and will share with us then
because they are both very decisive!  Not!!

One reason why I know they are both so serious is because McKenzies hair
is looking so cute.  Not that it was not before, but it is just looking cuter!!
I don't think I will miss the shaved side...........
not that I hated it though......:)

Before McKenzie even told me how much she liked Josh
I saw a picture of them together,
and my first thought was "Uh oh"!
There was something very different about her.
She practically glowed!
And I knew..........He was the one!
Weird huh?
It was just a few days later that she called me and told me how crazy she was about him!

They get to go on the best dates.......
McKenzie said it is like being on the Bachelor!

Yeah!  It looks like love!

I think I would choose Hawaii too........
So excited to have her come home in just a few weeks.
And this time she is coming home for good.
Well at least until she leaves again...........
But this time it wont be clear across an ocean!
