Are you ready for some football??

Can not believe it is that time again............
but it is!!
This last week Noah participated in his first scrimmage
and Daniel and Hunter participated in the Maroon and Gold Scrimmage at the high school!

Noah did not have his new Jersey yet,
but his Jerseys are  Maroon this year and he is going to be #5!
His team did really well in the scrimmage.  They are going to be a good team
this year.  Because of the amount of new boys signed up in the 4th grade
his team has changed a bit from the last couple of years,
but I am predicting after watching the scrimmage that they will still be one of the
top teams in the 4th grade!
Noah was so funny.  He told me he played deffense, yet he was always out on offense.
when I asked him about it, he said that he played
"1st team offense and 2nd team offense. 1st team deffense and 2nd team deffense."
I said, "So you play all the time?"
And he said, "Yeah.  I just have to tell them when I need a break."
He just acted like it was no big deal!  He makes me smile!

Hunter is on the 9th grade team this year.
Gold Jerseys again, but this year he is #1!  Very cool number to have.
His team did well at the scrimmage.  Hunter hurt his toe earlier in the day.
Kind of looks broken, so he did not get much playing time.
Explains the lack of pictures... but I promise to post some after his 1st game!!

Bobby is coaching the Freshman team again this year.
His team also played in the scrimmage and beat the sophomore team!
He sure enjoys coaching.  He loves the boys and they always seem to love him
even though he seems to be yelling at them all of the time!

Daniel is on the Lone Peak JV and Varsity team!
JV players get last pick of numbers so he is #30 this year....
He is back to playing wide receiver which he use to play back in the 7th and 8th grade
before they made him quarterback.
I personally think it is his best position so I am excited to watch him play this year!
Plus he gets to dress for all of the Varsity games!
He is excited about that.  Me too!!!

I was sitting with Hunter watching the scrimmage and he kept telling me
that he did not think #30 was Daniel.
I told him I knew for sure it was because Daniel has a way that he stands
that is easily recognizable to me.  The picture on the bottom right! That's it!
I would recognize it anywhere!  Mom's just know their kids!

So excited for the season to begin!
First Varsity game is this Friday at Bountiful!
Let the fun begin!!

Island Park Fishing Trip

On July 25th it was 8 years since we brought Noah home from the hospital
after his near drowning when he was 21 months old.
As we do every year we celebrated his "Happy Day"
with the family, with cake and home made ice cream and a gift!!
The first year we did this was actually, the actual day and I remember we had a
cake very similiar to the above flag cake.
Also, I made a Cinnabun cake (yummy)!!
Noah got a new Mining set Lego! Just when they run out of Lego's that he doesn't have,
they come up with new ones.  Gotta love that Lego company!!

We actually celebrated a couple days early because on the 25th,
James, Scott and the 3 boys, Hunter, Noah, and Dakota
went on a fun fishing trip to Island Park. (Near Yellow Stone).
They stayed in cabins and had guided fly fishing on a river everyday!
From what I heard, it was way fun!!

They learned how to fly fish.
I guess they were required to wear sun glasses.  Not because of the sun,
but to keep from getting a fly hook caught in their eye!
Smart thinking!!!
They caught lots of fish, but it was catch and release!
Noah said he caught a total of 15 fish!!
On the way home they stopped at Bear World.

These deer are so much more tame than the ones at our house!
So glad they could take this trip, because I think they had a great time........
I did not hear a single complaint!!

Latest Fire.........

Driving home from football this morning Noah was looking up at the west mountain
behind the cove subdivision and said he could imagine there being a fire there someday....
Later this afternoon I was not feeling well so I was lying down and Noah
came in to tell me there was somebody at the door.
I told him to tell the person I was not feeling well and to just take a message or something.
Later Noah came back into my room and said,
"Well, mom, a guy was just here and said
there is another fire and we need to be prepared to leave."
Instantly. I am up out of bed to go check things out.
Sure enough there was a fire.
Interestingly it was right where Noah had said earlier he could imagine a fire.
It was on the west side, right above the cove.
The kid is starting to scare me just a little..............

Luckily, they seemed to get on top of it quickly and had it under control in no time.
I am curious as to how it started though.......... Kind of a weird place
and there was no lightening or anything like that!
Lets hope it was not construction equipment!! :)
I was not to concerned about our home, but Noah did pack a few things in the car.
This was fun for him since he missed out on the last evacuation.

On another fire note.........It has been fun to see mother nature at work
as green is starting to appear where the last fire burnt!
OK, so they are weeds, but they are green!  And green looks soooooooo good!!
